ONEWORLD COLLECTION 2008
Airports, vernissages, urban networks. Feeling at home in the rest of the world, discovering you are part of one dimension – near and far away –. This is the mood of OneWorld, the cosmopolitan collection coordinated by Rodolfo Dordoni, which enjoys travelling and is meant for those who enjoy travelling. This is the spirit of those who think international, of those who realize that art and design are synonymous, of those who approach technology as the latest fashion. OneWorld Collection is the soundtrack of contemporary life, where the taste for travelling, art, music, design, architecture and theatre alternates with the pleasure of immersing oneself into the privacy of one’s home. A smart creation of objects which show their character through the unconditional use of the energy that moves the world, a stage for everything, for everybody... OneWorld. ALBERSdesign Rodolfo DordoniSimple, smart and contemporary… This is the versatile, one-of-a-kind seating system, Albers, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, based on a desire to develop a compact, eclectically shaped model, synonymous with light volumes, resulting from the nickel-titanium finished metal base suspended from the ground through cylindrical feet in two different heights. The Albers seating system can boast a linear design, as typical of urban glamour, suiting any room because of its unique character – with a remarkable international flavour – and the different types it is available in: “Classic”, where the backrest cushions match the piece itself in size; “Style”, where the backrest cushions vary in shapes and dimensions; “Depth 134 cm”, composed of pieces connected with remarkable depths and outstanding volumes; “Longue Sofa”, enhanced by curved shapes where the peculiarities of both the sofa and the chaise longue are to be found in one piece. Each piece of the system is meant to either function as free-standing or be matched with parts varying in type: the shapes and proportions of the Albers pieces make it possible to create peculiar arrangements and provide ever-new stylistic interpretations – for example, through the use of the coffee table available in several sizes.BRETONdesign Rodolfo DordoniThe new seating system, Breton, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, celebrates the elegance of a designer sofa and the originality of a collector’s bed, enhancing the decorative value of the product through classic yet modernly interpreted shapes. The Breton seating system means pure inspiration of up-to-the-minute design, so developed as to harmonize with any room setting: informal and modern in the “Original” version, classic and linear in the “Classic” version. Based on its hallmarks, including the titanium base, the informal backrest cushions, the absence of profiles and the types of details, it stands out as versatile and customizable. This sofa is composed of parts which can be joined to each other, while being connected with remarkable aesthetic sense, as is the case with the unique combination between the armrest and the backrest, which share the same dimensions and shape, and the covers, which range from modern linen to classic, decorative velvet and leather.HELIONdesign Rodolfo DordoniWithin the One World 2008 collection, the Helion model stands out as the perfect link between the two souls of the collection. Remarkable formal simplicity, reduced depth (87 cm), building technology and a challenging price are the name for a comprehensive model. The accurate aesthetic is emphasized by matchless lightness as resulting from the high supporting feet made from chrome-plated metal, as opposed to the external frame, made from matt black metal. In addition, because the product can be fully taken apart and assembled, it is easier to remove its covers as well as maintain the product and even deliver it. The armchair of the range, which perfectly matches the sofa, is an example of continuity in design, while laying stress on the rigorous approach of the range. Helion also suits urban home settings, where the smaller areas available make tailored solutions a must. This project is based on experimentation and research, which have translated into a remarkably sophisticated yet rigorously shaped product. SMITHdesign Rodolfo DordoniThe project Smith Lounge Systemis meant to fully epitomize the contract soul of the new collection, One World 2008. This product is designed for use in shared spaces; nevertheless, at the fair you are going to realize that this system can be effectively matched with the models of the new collection. For example, the aesthetic contrast between the Smith model and the Breton sofa can no doubt translate into absolutely new design ideas. The Smith lounge system is available in one size and can be fitted with two differently sized backrests which can take several positions on the bench, with just one move. It can be optionally supplied with armrest or decorative cushions. A few connecting coffee tables – made from either burled walnut or brushed porphyry – are available, thus resulting in unparalleled versatility and flexibility. The designer can then rely on a product synonymous with refined aesthetic and remarkable rigour as well as an implementable system, where the design for a simple bench can develop into, and take on, several souls. “Lounge system” means full modularity, as typical of systems, matched with such a building technology as to allow us to draw on a groundbreaking, impactful product to penetrate the design market. MARCdesign Rodolfo DordoniEnveloping, holding, revealing, surprising: four different expressions, designed to celebrate a product enhanced by clear-cut design, apparently developed as a “complement” to a room, yet perfectly capable of becoming a distinctive symbol. An outstanding piece, available in three different versions synonymous with a remarkable visual impact and great charms. Although the Marc armchair can be used either individually or with other pieces, it can be matched with the models of the One World 2008 collection, taking countless shapes – linear and neat in the sofa, sculptural and curved in the armchair. Because of its peculiar shape, it suits such projects as business lounges at airports, major executive offices, receptions and waiting rooms. The armchair is fully let into fireproof polyurethane foam; based on its shapes and building technology, this product has a major visual impact and is the name for remarkable comfort.BERMANdesign Rodolfo DordoniMinotti relies on the Berman armchair to catch, and offer its customers, an opportunity to customize any room with a unique style, based on the matchless versatility of the product. Both the armchair and the pouf, designed to be matched with each other, individually offer smart, refined design ideas. The combination of an object with a square section, namely the armchair, with a circular pouf, looks unusual. The peculiar curved profile of the chrome-plated cylinders making up the supporting frame evokes design details of the past, according to a modern interpretation, suiting any room. ALBERS SIDE TABLEdesign Rodolfo DordoniA range of rigorously shaped coffee tables, available in the version without a base, with “foldaway feet”, or, alternatively, with a bright black nickel-titanium finished metal frame with a rectangular section. Based on this detail and its dimensions, it suits the Albers sofa perfectly, resulting in arrangements synonymous with a major aesthetic impact. Bright lacquered and brushed, they are available in the colours white, sand, elephant grey, stone grey or black. NORMANdesign Rodolfo DordoniThe new range of coffee tables, Norman, available in several sizes, can be flexibly used within the various sets. Available in two different versions: in tempered extraclear glass, which results in a rational, light image; with a walnut top, for a warmer, solid version. Both versions are enhanced by tubular black-nickel finished frames 20 mm in diameter. Because they are available in several sizes, they suit rooms varying in type, in the round as in the square versions. MITCHELLdesign Rodolfo DordoniA coffee table based on refined stylistic balance; the metal frame is made up of chrome-plated rods welded to each other. It suits any room, since the top (59 cm in diameter) peculiarly functions as a fully removable tray resting on the frame. Stress should also be laid on the range of colours, namely blue, plum, moka and white. NAYdesign Rodolfo DordoniOne piece, enhanced by sophisticated design and chrome-plated finish. It matches the sets of the new collection as the existing products. This piece has joined such objects/tables as Still, Munch and Kitaj.JORNdesign Rodolfo DordoniJorn means the new table of the One World 2008 collection. A simply shaped yet refined product, based on rigorous signs and basic volumes, where traditional wood is interpreted according to a modern approach. The grain of the matt finished walnut top results in unique beauty. Because of its characteristics and sizes, it suits residential projects and can also be used as a meeting table, a working desk etc. It is fitted with a black lacquered metal frame; the legs are made from chrome-plated tubular metal 40 mm in diameter; the sandwich wood top is veneered in matt walnut, 60 mm in thickness. . VAN DYCKdesign Rodolfo DordoniPrecious materials and contemporary taste… it’s Van Dyck, the table/sculpture designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. A piece of design that is unique of its kind, which combines the refinement of details with the passion of valuable finishes. Originally presented in the versions with smoked grey glass top and Calacatta marble top, Van Dyck evolves with new proposals in oak wood – natural brushed, grey tinted, moka and black lacquered – and in the special matt walnut wood. A piece which distinguishes itself by its great personality, always tuned in every setting, thanks to its definite lines. Van Dyck is characterized by its peculiar metal base, made up of 3 crossed tubular legs, available in bright chrome-plated finish, in black-nickel and black or butter lacquered. Van Dyck boasts surfaces of different shapes, from the round one, to the rectangular and the square one, this last with the base made up of 4 legs placed in the four corners of the table, for the ones who prefer a more minimal-chic design.BRETON LETTOdesign Rodolfo DordoniThe Breton bed, based on rounded shapes, is the natural evolution of the stylistic sign of the sofa. The zipped valance at the foot of the headboard as well as the external base fitted with a black nickel finished metal frame with a rectangular section look extremely refined. A bed designed to furnish the sleeping area in a different manner, creating a warm, cosy, classy ambience. Here, as elsewhere, the covers play a major role: leather or velvet for traditional, classic rooms; linen or cotton for modern, contemporary rooms. TWOMBLYdesign Gordon GuillaumierA new stylistic sign, a chair and armchair based on soft, sinuous shapes enhanced by thermoformed leather. The marked folds of the shape as well as the building technique - the result of technological research on gluing on composite materials – are the key ingredients of a product synonymous with unique design contents. Stress should be laid on both sophisticated building technology and the odd proportions of the volumes, which result in new chances for the product. FLUXUSdesign Gordon GuillaumierFluxus means a new range of carpets, available in several sizes. The “wave” effect, produced by matching the matt reflections of New Zealand pure virgin wool with the bright, changing reflections of viscose, results in a remarkable impact and refined elegance, thus enhancing the items of the One World 2008 collection. Available colours: ecru, blue and grey.
