El proyecto de remodelación del restaurante Storstad — que significa “metrópolis” en sueco — en el corazón de la ciudad bávara de Ratisbona, fusiona la estética urbana nórdica con el entorno histórico de la célebre catedral de la ciudad, y se enriquece con las propuestas atemporales de mobiliario de Minotti.
Inundada de luz natural, la sala está enmarcada por ventanales de altura completa que abren la vista hacia la plaza de la catedral y los tejados circundantes, creando una continuidad constante entre interior y exterior. La arquitectura permanece esencial y precisa: superficies limpias, carpinterías negras y sutiles acentos estructurales crean un escenario equilibrado para la atmósfera del restaurante. La paleta de colores equilibra contrastes cálidos y fríos: tonos neutros y superficies claras, enriquecidos por la profundidad de los revestimientos de cuero.
Los asientos Torii en cuero color coñac invitan a relajarse y aportan una nota cromática al ambiente, haciéndolo cálido y acogedor. Aéreos, con detalles constructivos inspirados en la tradición japonesa, los sillones Torii juegan con volúmenes redondeados, la ligereza de los espesores y la aparente simplicidad formal de un proyecto sofisticado, donde el característico acolchado vertical recorre el respaldo, enfatizando el aspecto de alta costura de su confección.
La disposición de la sala es intencionadamente flexible: mesas redondas con manteles blancos descansan sobre alfombras suaves que definen “islas” íntimas, garantizando a la vez convivencia y privacidad. Elementos discretos vinculados a la hospitalidad — consolas de servicio, cristalería y arreglos florales — completan el conjunto con una elegancia natural, sobria y meticulosa.
El resultado es un ambiente acogedor y contemporáneo, en el que el mobiliario de Minotti contribuye a crear una atmósfera única.
