苏黎世美术馆的最新扩建项目由建筑师David Chipperfield操刀设计,这座美术馆也因此成为瑞士最大的艺术博物馆。馆内摆放的长凳、座椅、让人可以休憩沉思的岛形家具均是Minotti的作品。

扩建工程历时12年完成,一条70米长的地下通道将扩建区域与苏黎世美术馆的历史建筑相连接,这座建筑的历史可以追溯到1910年。建筑师David Chipperfield此番负责的是苏黎世美术馆的第四次扩建项目,在此之前的扩建工程由Karl Moser(1922年)、Otto Pfister和Werner Pfister两兄弟(1956年)、Erwin Müller(1977年)设计。

无论是从建筑角度,还是从城市角度来看,此项目都体现出美术馆的重大革新。美术馆将Chipperfield设计的建筑整合其中,面朝Heimplatz广场的周边区域在经过完全重新设计之后,成为一个公共空间,不仅是两座建筑之间的外部连接,也连接起城市中的其他区域。

建筑的内部空间恢弘大气,清晰可见的混凝土与展厅通道之间的金属门形成对比效果,赋予空间一份精致感。光线从天花板漫射开来,黄铜元素为灰色调注入暖意,展厅中央的岛形区域沉浸在此场景中,这里摆放着Rodolfo Dordoni设计的Freeman “Tailor”座椅系列,座椅采用中性色调的灰色皮革覆面,与建筑空间的风格精妙地结合在一起。长凳和座椅呈现出标志性的雕塑感,为单个岛形区域营造出放松惬意的氛围。这组家具散发出一种安静而又严谨的存在感,像是一组柔软的建筑体通过缝线连接在一起,展现出别致的造型感与现代感。

形状大小各异的座椅分布在美术馆的各个角落,从主厅到小展厅,都有它们的身影。所谓的“建筑中的建筑”:实际上,家具描绘出建筑的空间,释放其自由中立的特质,同时突显其纯粹的造型。

建筑师David Chipperfiled介绍说:“从一开始,我们就试图在美术馆内营造出一种更有身临其境感的环境,以提升参观者的体验,同时兼顾建筑的公共属性及其所代表的机构。我们希望建筑的质量、空间、造型和材料能够确保扩建区域可以像Karl Moser设计的原始建筑一样,在物质、社会、文化层面,成为苏黎世基础设施的一个组成部分。”
