Minotti participates in INTERNI Designer’s Week 2020, an initiative that is part of the events programme of Milano Design City, with two dates: one in the city, at the Minotti Concept Store in Via Larga 13, and the other at the company headquarters in Meda. The October issue of INTERNI Magazine is the perfect occasion for illustrating in detail the new 2020 Collection to design professionals and enthusiasts. A sequence of striking images, spanning 5 double pages, evokes the mood of the new 2020 Collection, offering an authentic interpretation of contemporary living according to Minotti, where the indoor spaces interact in tune with the outdoor ones and where the styles and voices of esteemed designers from different cultural backgrounds merge to shape a veritable “Minotti project”.
In the first setting, an ideal “Minotti home” hosts Connery, a modular seating system designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. It stands out for its clean geometric shape and precise craftsmanship, particularly evident in the refined leather straps of the base and the particular C-shaped surface. Both are finished with the same technique used to make the finest leather luggage, a process that creates an original contrast with the softness of the seat. Opposite, the Boteco coffee table by Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 is perfectly placed: the expression of a design strategy that focuses on the architecture of the product and its creation with carefully crafted materials.
The storytelling continues with Torii, designed by Nendo, an aery system featuring combinable seats that play around with round-edged volumes, slender lines and apparent formal simplicity of a well-developed design. The setting showcases the three main elements of the family - sofa, armchair and coffee table - offering a focus on the precious details that underline the couture-like quality of the craftsmanship, including the vertical quilting effect, the piping that runs along the perimeter of the cushioning and the structural details of the base, inspired by Japanese tradition.
The third setting centres around Blazer, also designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, in the version with two linear elements set side-by-side. A modular seating system with a contemporary look and pure volumes, crafted with great precision, it is one of the solutions that best expresses the company’s most authentic artisanal approach. The unique matelassé effect that characterises the entire surface of the upholstery enhances its silhouette and offers an immediate sensation of comfort. Opposite, the Torii Nest seats designed by Nendo, characterised by an entwined leather backrest and a design inspired by Vienna straw.
This experience of the new collection is completed by an evocative image of the 2020 Outdoor Collection, design proposals conceived to furnish open-air spaces like gardens and private terraces, or the outdoor areas of hospitality facilities or yachts. Sunray, seating system by Rodolfo Dordoni, fits seamlessly into this scenario, flaunting an enveloping design that convey a sensation of intimacy and relaxation. It is joined by the Fynn Outdoor seats by GamFratesi, crafted in teak using a fine cabinet-making process that combines sophisticated workmanship with an ultra-contemporary design.
