In an enviable position in the most sought-after enclave in Beverly Hills, the residence designed by Joseph Ferrugio, founder of the Ferrugio Design & Associates studio, embraces a view that sweeps from downtown to Century City, The Valley and beyond, as far as the ocean. A dynamic play of colours and textures pervades the architecture, which features walnut panelled ceilings and walls and distinctive elements such as the bathroom, clad in slabs of amethyst, and the lift enclosed in a futuristic resin capsule.
Automatic sliding doors create a continuous flow from inside to outside, capturing hidden views. The suspended staircase in walnut wood leads from the first floor with the day zone to the upper level, where the bedrooms open onto a wrap-around ribbon terrace covered with green grass.
On the basement level, the climbing plants create a green wall partly concealing the wine cellar, home theatre, wellness area, and the bar in Calacatta marble with a window to watch people swimming in the pool above, as well as a garage for six cars. The striking crescent-shaped infinity pool, 33 metres long, seems almost to flow out onto the hillside.
The large living area is furnished with the Powell seating system, arranged in an L-shape around an extra-large low version of the Calder coffee table, and features the highly distinctive shape of the Glover armchair and pouf, with leather upholstery. Beside the staircase leading to the upper floor, an Ashley pouf, its surface decorated with a delicate sartorial-style diamond motif, is matched with the Joy coffee table, with a top in fine Issogne marble with its typical green veining.
In the night zone, the Spencer bed, with its sinuous lines and large, comfortable bedhead dominates the bedroom, which also features the Freeman chaise-longue. In the adjacent room, the retro-inspired Aston armchair and sofa are interpreted in a dialogue of different shades of colour. On the terrace, the dialogue continues with a pair of Aston “Cord” Outdoor armchairs beside the Bellagio coffee table in a strategic position, as though suspended over the countryside that stretches to the foot of the Beverly Hills.
