A private home, set against the spectacular backdrop of Starwood mountain, just minutes from the center of Aspen, Colorado - one of the most well-known and exclusive ski resorts in the United States – conveys the brilliant architectural and interior design skills of Rowland + Broughton Architects.
The concept consistently achieves utter, harmonious continuity with the gorgeous setting that surrounds the home.
In order to maintain the beauty and historic content inherent to the home, many of the original structural elements were kept, like the beams, balustrades and floors. Others were updated to accommodate the new needs of the owners and lend greater functionality to the home.
The chic and sophisticated interior design skillfully recreates a more contemporary atmosphere, making broad use of natural materials, like bleached oak on the floors and other finishes, and shades of white, sand and grey on the walls and fabrics.
The heart of the home is the living area, furnished with two compositions of the Seymour seating system strategically placed at the center of the room. Its softly curved shapes lend a relaxed, inviting vibe to the space and pair perfectly with the complementary pieces and accessories that complete the decor, establishing an atmosphere of warm, informal elegance.
