Holland, private residence  Residential

Holland, private residence

The striking interior design project for this private residence called for the total renovation of the property. Surrounded by trees, the home is located in Noordwijk, a small town in the Netherlands, overlooking the North Sea.

The interior decor blends modern design and the Nordic tradition, expressed through charming design solutions that reflect inviting hospitality and comfort. The division of the space, as well as the concept for the interior decor, were specifically planned to ensure an atmosphere of welcoming warmth and sophistication, perfect for a large family.

The well-defined aesthetic language is expressed through the meticulous selection of materials and the elegant pairing of fabrics and materials in shades of beige, brown and grey. The palette of neutral colors is enhanced by elegant parquet flooring in light shades of wood, laid in a herringbone pattern, that fills the space with light.

The two-story home’s architecture takes its inspiration from the typical Nordic style with gabled roof. The family’s living spaces are on the first floor and include the kitchen, living room and a small office. A large wood stairway leads to the bedrooms and a study upstairs.

The kitchen is undoubtedly the hub of the home. The open floor plan revolves around a small fireplace, where the family gathers to spend much of their time together.

Next to the kitchen, the spacious living room is furnished with the Leonard seating system and a chaise-longue from the same collection. The Leslie "armchairs", with outer shell in nabuk leather and the inner shell upholstered in forest green velvet, are paired with the Kirk coffee table and Ashley pouf, with its subtle diamond-stitched motif and elegant matte gold zippers. The small adjacent office is separated from the living room by transparent floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. It features the Andersen Paolina chaise-longue with armrest, upholstered in light grey fabric and a Cesar coffee table in the same shade.

Upstairs, the Bedford bed with saddle-hide base was chosen to furnish the master bedroom. Its stylish upholstered headboard features an inset saddle-hide strip outlined in elegant zippers. Kirk nightstands complement the bed.

The refined elegance that distinguishes the interiors is carried over into the furnishings for the outdoor areas. Here, the use of seating elements and coffee tables from the Rivera series come into play -- a collection that imparts a markedly retro flavor with a contemporary vibe, calling to mind a typically Mediterranean atmosphere.
